Why? why do I get different results when I use FireFox that when I use IE? same computer, same location, even if I copy and paste the results url from one browser to another the results are different. Does anyone has an idea why?

Can you note down the keywords for which this is happening and the URL of Google wheter .com or co.in. If possible paste down the URL too.

Try in any browser you will get the same results, the results vary from one search engine to another not from browser to browser. Btw I'm also interested to know the answer of your question.

Different data centres. yes, This is the main reason of different results on different servers.
if you want more specification you can take a look at "Google webmaster tools"
all the things are mention there regarding data centers.

It could be that each time you query, a different Google datacenter returns your results. Sometimes Google tests results pages to see which is better; in this case, there's some kind of randomness or algorithm that decides which results to show you.

I think one can observe different results in a same search engine (but different regional search engines). I'm not sure about google, but i've experienced different results with yahoo.uk and yahoo.in with the same keyword.

The keyword could be focus on specifc location eg. hair salon in UK and if your hair salon is in Australia,then it would not appear in yahoo.uk and not in yahoo.in
