It's only 400 metres long! It's not gonna do much harm...
It's only rated 2 on the Torino scale...
Search google for Torino scale and I'm sure you'll find something on the different measurements of the scale(hopefully)... _________________ "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get it's pants on." - Winston Churchill |

| Actuually, Its Torino scale rating is 4. That's greater than any other recorded asteroid. |

for some strange reason i cant see 31 people going up into space with bombs straped to their chest and blowing themselves up when they come into contact with an asteroid.
Would you go up there and kill yourself when the asteroid might not hit the earth and you could stay alive??? _________________ [URL]http://www.googlecommunity.com/about5067.html[URL] |

| Yeah, I'm sure we will have the technology to launch a projectile towards it or detonate it remotely, if it even becomes such a great risk that that is necessary. |

I don't think we have to be worried about that just yet. A lot can happen between now and 2029. Thats more than 20 years away. It might change it's course a little in the next 25 years and not be a threat anymore. And if it would happen, I think the experts probably will have some sort of solution by then. Otherwise there will be enough time to panic in the years 2028 and 2029. _________________ I love new messages, don't you? |

Update: December 27, astronomers were able to refine the asteroid's orbit sufficiently to determine that 2004 MN4 will miss the Earth in 2029, albeit only by a few tens of thousands of miles.

Horray were all saved.
And to think I was just in the garden planning on where I could built an underground shellter to save me from it. _________________ My Blog | Microsoft Discussion |
