|
|
|
| Quote: | Thailand's foremost meteorologists, meeting in a crisis session before the tsunami hit, decided not to issue a warning "out of courtesy to the tourism industry," according to a report in the Thai paper The Nation.
...
"We finally decided not to do anything because the tourist season was in full swing," a source told the paper. "The hotels were 100 percent booked. What if we issued a warning, which would have led to an evacuation, and nothing had happened. What would be the outcome? The tourist industry would be immediately hurt. Our department would not be able to endure a lawsuit." |

They got what they had coming to them and what they deserved.
How selfish of them to put hundreds of thousands of lives at risk just to gain some money...how...inhuman... _________________ "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get it's pants on." - Winston Churchill |

They were able to do it because they were tainted with greed and lust. Unfortunately, this is true not only for them, but many other people throughout the world. _________________ "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get it's pants on." - Winston Churchill |

Thai government bans their own people from watching/buying s*x etc. but they encourage foreign people to do so...
the ladyboys (shemale ... you name it) are another human tragedy..
and now the tsunami
all in all, these are definately not what a buddhist country should do. _________________ http://www.zskin.com

Yes, it's bad, but I can't blame them all that much. Nothing is 100% certain, and if they had issued a warning and no tsumani occurred, they'd be in big trouble. And warning people sometimes causes hysteria that in the end doesn't save many lives |

| If the aftersight, they should give out the warning. It's very easy for us to blame them, but we don't know how certain or uncertain those meteorologists were. They thought the made the best decision at the time. Instead, they made one that they will regard forever. |
