I have a blog network and partnership with about 10 different very large blogs. I have their explicit permission to use thier information as long as it is sourced. A few of these blogs include Boing Boing, Engadget, Slant Point, etc.

If you want permission, just drop them an email. Most bloggers allow you to use their content if you have their permission and link back to them.
