The new desktop Search Tool is a great addition for Google users, but if you aren't careful you can let your spouse, kids, coworkers or boss accidentally take a peek at what you've been looking at or emailing when they innociently use your computer to do a search.
Here's an article that shows how to set the preferences to help keep private things private:

cool cool.. might come in handy for people someday.. one of my concerns.. but im on mac.. and spotlight will search EVERYTHING down on me..lol

Another tip that might come in handy.

(where username is your actual username)
Now this will delete your entire google desktop search index. After you do it, you will find nothing in your google search. Uninstall and reinstall the desktop tool.
Next, set your directories that you don't want google to search...
That way, you can set your "pron" directory to "do not search" and all your pron or whatever will not be indexed. |
