That is part of the new Google Code Home for Open Source projects. I just talk to a tech guy a couple of weeks ago and he advised me that there is a lot of money to be made in this (niche) DB management for companies. You knew that already, but its always nice to hear it from others as well.

i agree with your friend but oracle is also planning for future- they are entering the erp area and other application arena!
