I'm trying out some tools that help you to save and organize information from searches. The ones I'm looking at are Net Snippets and OnFolio. I also have Google's Desktop search installed. Google's Desktop Search finds all the stuff I've saved through Net Snippets, but it doesn't find items of information I've saved through OnFolio. I've tried searching for them using the regular Windows disk-search utility and that doesn't find them either. Does anyone know why? I'm rather curious - does the information saved through OnFolio even get backed up if no program seems able to find it?

As of March 9, 2005, Onfolio's top priority was its Release Candidate, however, their Software Programmer has already 'hacked' together a plug-in (prototype) for the GDS that works well.

If you would like to be the first to get your hands on it please contact :

They are looking for testers! Very Happy

that doesn't sound very safe! I WANT a desktop search program to find all my information, whatever program I've saved
it with. Why should I use a program that saves data in a form that no other program can access, and then adds plugins to be tested, and who knows what damage might happen to my computer as a result?

And what happens to the data if OnFolio crashes? It seems to me that Net Snippets is much more flexible because: I can see and use its data (and it tells me where it's put the data). I can see the data even when I'm not using Net Snippets; and so can Windows and desktop search programs.
