Php is the best because:
No database required, you can log or use files .
MYSQL connections are great!
easy to learn!
too much resources at the internet.
the best jerry .. just the best.. _________________ Sorry but english is not my 1 spoken languaje. i try my best |

i like php and perl, perl is more powerfull if your working with linix systems, but causes more server load, php is fast and does most things perl does. _________________ http://www.thrillnerdshosting.com - Your Start to the Internet |

Yes PHP has great cross platform, but really, if you want to use PHP, you would want to use Apache on LINUX. Sure you can get Apache on Windows as well, and it is actually not that bad, but again, you can get ASP to run under Apache under Linux if you really want to. So I don't think that you can get real cross-platform, even when programming in Java, sometimes you need to add some extra lines of codes for it to run as good as you were on Windows. Also, if you read the Apache readme file, they said they worked hard for it to work as well as possible on Windows, but they still recommends you to put it on Linux for production level web site. Don't forget about ColdFusion and JSP, ColdFusion have better integration with database and JSP is just as platform independent as PHP.
Ok, I actually have only worked with PHP, as it is free open source! I am looking forward to do Servlet and JSP though... |

I've tried all three and I have to say I prefer PHP... _________________ "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get it's pants on." - Winston Churchill

I've tried all but I stick with ASP.NET not ASP...
I know is a bit slow but it makes amazing things...
Also I recommend PHP for thoes who can't afford .NET servers...
ASP.NET and PHP is the solution for every thing... _________________

Perl is sorta laied out like php is, codeing wise, mainly because php is based off some perl.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, asp/asp.net can't jack compared to PHP.
Besides, PHP is free, stable, and open source. anything by Microsoft crashes, is not free, and you have to use what they provide, so nothing for the open minded.
Believe me, i have a friend that uses nothing but asp.net, took him a week to make his coding for his server, on a 2.8 ghz server, server load 50%+ all the time. My site equal amount of coding, server load on a 2.8ghz server, server load 0.00% all the time. And my server has a bunch of accounts on it, his was for him only. _________________ http://www.thrillnerdshosting.com - Your Start to the Internet |
