There's so many easy, legit ways to increase your rankings. The easiest of them all is using header tags can be the easiest way to significantly increase your position for a specific keyword or phrase. Simply add a header tag with the keyword you want results for and add a good ammount of useful content under it. For example:

<h1>Search Engines</h1>
Search engines is the best way to get free, quality traffic to your website.. etc etc.

Just don't over do it or it will end up becoming ineffective.

Yep, I'd recommend one or two header tags per page.

<h1> and <h2> can be very aesthetically unappealing. How does Google like <h3> and <h4>? Does anyone know?

I never said they looked good. Sometimes you have to do what doesn't have the best style appeal to achieve your rankings.

Ok, I see that google like head tags

<h1> google sucks </h1>
<h2> google likes head tags </h2>

It seems that google doesn't like hidden text

<!-- google sucks and google likes head tags -->
