Is there a way to tell Desktop search that you ONLY want to look in a particular folder and its subfolders? I have not found this.
Thanks, Alan |

I believe this is a valid question. Also, I have mounted a secondary hard drive on my Win2K system under my personal folders.
Now I find that Google Desktop Search will not index files located on the newly mounted drive. Any idea why? |

To illustrate...
I have a hard disk mounted under `C:\Documents and Settings' named after my userid. Much to my dismay, none of the documents on that hard drive are being indexed (despite the fact that the index files themselves reside on that drive).
The only thing I can query via Google Desktop Search is my Outlook PST file, which happens to reside on a network drive.
Is there something I can do to force the LOCAL drive mounted under `c:\Documents and Settings' to get indexed?
I guess I can settle for the Microsoft built-in search functions

Well, after searching further, I found a utility called TweakGDS, which allowed me to reindex my disks. After doing so, everything is searchable.
Thanks for the help! |
