John says that the Google will not be acquiring the social networking/location-based software provider meetro. Stories and rumors about a possible acquisition have been circulating this week.
This may not mean it ain't so, since companies deny rumors all the time only to later prove them right, but Meetro is insisting that reports of a Google deal to acquire the service are not true. In an interview with Randy Morin, Meetro's Wendell Davis says "We've talked with some people there — they were aware of us before the story broke — but the fact of the matter is that no acquisition is taking place."
