heya,
Eric: Umm...I think the parent was rather clear about it, wasn't he? Gaim is an open-source multi-network IM client (AOL, ICQ, MSN, Jabber etc.), homepage at http://gaim.sourceforge.net (I'm made a url link, just in case you were too lazy to bother copy-pasting the link in the parent...lol)
Yeah, I'd have to second that - it's one reason why I uninstalled Google Desktop recently (yesterday, in fact). The inability to search Gaim message logs (google only seems able to search AIM, and there's no plugin), and the inability to search .mht mailboxes without having to start Mozilla Mail is *really* annoying.
That, combined with the inability to search inside Zip/Rar archives (as in, contents - yes, I know about the plugins, but they only search through filenames, which is next to useless).
Well, anyway, hopefully gaim support will be added soon, or a plugin coded - would love to go back to google desktop, because apart from the inability to search gaim, mozilla-mail and inside archives, I found it great.
Also, is there a reason that the 100,000 file limit in Google Desktop can't be changed by the user? Kinda annoying...
I'm just tring msn desktop right now....kinda slow to index, but we'll see how it goes, plus there're iFilters for searching Mozilla Mail, and inside the *contents* of archive files.
cya,
Victor |
