The Terms of Service state that they don't allow you to have more than one GMail account. However, because they can't easily harness multiple accounts of one user, it's up to that user to decide whether or not (s)he wants/needs another account.

After all, how quickly can you use up a whole gig of e-mail space? Food for thought - Send out your invites to people who need them like the soliders in Iraq.
