Better still eliminate the menace. Spam Control has been listed on AICPA's Top Ten List of Emerging Technologies. http://infotech.aicpa.org/Resources/Top++10+Technologies/Top+10+Technologies+2005/
This only emphasises the urgent need to solve this problem. Stringent laws, and a few good convictions will result in quite a few spammers looking for new jobs.
When signing up at websites, for example, a temporary email id from www.mytrashmail.com would be very handy for the occasion. You can delete the id if you start receiving a lot of spam.

Though it almost borders on advertising, I'm moving this to the General Discussion section in case anyone would like to continue this discussion. _________________ Hello? Is this microphone on? Testing testing one two three...

If people didnt hit the forward button on chain mails and send to 30 friends on their email list without using BCC THIS would help reduce spam.
Forwarding , lost children stories, or virus announcements or Bill Gates gives away money emails, is part of the ploy spammers use to accumulate email addys.
Sometimes i receive a forwarded email and it has been forwarded from 30 people all of which has included 10+ other email and so i now have 300 email addys to spam. _________________ Dont worry about the world coming to an end tomorrow, its already tomorrow in Australia.
