GDS seems to work fine in the other modes, but when I put it to sidebar mode it flickers for a while and then closes with the error message "Google Desktop has unexpectedly quit. To restart, open Google Desktop from the Start Menu." I'm really not sure what I can do; I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that hasn't done anything. Any help with my problem would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Have you been able to re-install the GDS? I am having difficulty installing. Now my display is 3" shorter where the sidebar would have been. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. I have been working on this for several days now. I am using the Firefox web browser, could that be a problem?

Well, I use Google Desktop, too, and it's working just fine. As it is working normally, I really can't understand what the problem is. What you have said (or written) has never happened to me, so I... umm... just can't understand it.
