Please, I need your advice. I have vital issue of searching information on computer and in local network. I tried several programs - some do not provide satisfy search results, some are not handy to use, and some are too slow. Did anyone were interested in that kind of problem and can you advise something? Please, support your suggestions with facts.

try better spelling and grammer first, Are you sure your 'keywords' are relevent to the items you wish to find?
What system are you running? and what if any search programs?

Forgive me, for my sense of whimsy, but it always seems the spelling gods curse those that mention them.

I want to find information through the gigabytes of document files on my hard drive and local network…
I’m trying to find the fastest and the most functional program.

[Back to topic, then.]
As compared to, say, Google Desktop (since you're posting to GC)?
It may be more useful to state what you've tried, and what you've found lacking, in order to enable people to suggest things that you may find useful.

The only problem with Google Desktop is that it will take forever to index files if the computer is in use. I have had it going for a few months now (GD2, not 1) and it has YET to finish. I haven't turned my laptop off for more than that. If its a server, you could buy a Google Server that will index your sites. Its for sale here:http://www.google.com/enterprise/

Does anyone know how I can make a link that is like the html <a href=""> tag, but with BBCode so it can work on the forums?

Google Desktop Search can index and search documents in text formats, as well as mail, audio and video files tags and images. To be remembered: in order to show the application which files and folders to index, you have to install an additional component gdetweak. Without this add-in Google Desktop Search will index the whole information on user computer and in the network of the enterprise that it can access. Google Desktop Search by right features the most user friendly interface. But the only way to fine tune the application is to install additional components. This is a major disadvantage. The promised search of documents with a similar content (in the Internet originally positioned as similar pages) is quite wretched.
