i'm using winXp and Firefox,
i'm googling sites from my browser-address-bar,
it's quite fun so i thought i'd share.
(firefox has nice bookmarks and comes with some nice addybar-search keywords, like google) >>
http://www.google.com/search?q=%s (keyword is google, i changed it to g)
NOW: if i search [site:amazon.com ram], wait, then copy
the resulting url >>
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Aamazon.com+ram&btnG=Search
,now open notepad, paste both of these and -shuffle- >>
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Aamazon.com+%s&btnG=Google+Search
,then goto firefox>ManageBookmarks>NewBookmark, and paste this url (in location field),and make my keyword ..um, gamazon..
ican now use my addy-bar to search amazon.com
(by the way i used ga, so) >>
[ga "ram trilogy"] << (in my addy-bar)
ok?
EDIT: ps -no luck trying this in internetexplorer, maybe foxie (ie-plugin) makes it possible? -i'm sure this'll work for maxthon tho, my brother says it has the same functionality -how about with the other browsers guys? _________________ YouCanChangeTheWorld-YouAlreadyAre |

ok, so it looks stupid to use amazon.com here -but it's just an example, like >>
[gm owned + defacement] -for site:support.microsoft.com _________________ YouCanChangeTheWorld-YouAlreadyAre |

i'm now Googling a list of sites from my address-bar using the method above >>
http://www.google.com/search?q=%s
i open notepad and make mysearchblahblah.txt >>
(site:download.com OR site:downloads-zdnet.com OR site:nonags.com)
,copy that into google's search-field -adding [ ram] 'after' it, and copy the resulting url and (as above) swap out the word ram for %s >>
htt$$p://ww w.goo$$gle.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=%28site%3
Adownload.com+OR+site%3Atucows.com+OR+site%3Awebat
tack.com+OR+site%3Adownloads-zdnet.com.com+OR+site%
3Awinfiles.com+OR+site%3Anonags.com+OR+site%3Acws.i
nternet.com+OR+site%3Aserverfiles.com%29+%s&btnG=Goo
gle+Search (with no =meta)
then (as above) make a new bookmark and call it/this one: d/l >>
[d/l "analogue clock" -palm -mac -cellphone]
into my address-bar,
and find topclock in (three?) clicks
ie users (i was one) just type (in google-search-field) [+a (site:kill.com OR site:safe.com OR site:blahblahblahblah] ,then add the resulting page to your favourites, and to use it you'll replace +a with your query/search-word
http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=%I&btnI+Feeling+Lucky&meta=
this one's kind of self explanatory
(HAHA! did i mention this should work anywhere in the world? damage, please excuse that little type-o; maybe it's why i had to take out the =meta aye?)
FULLY SAVE THE BLAHBLAH.TXT AND EDIT IT TO SUIT >i know, what a hassle, someone make a site for this, it's only 1.36 KB (1393 bytes) or so...
ps: [kill site:support.microsoft.com] works heaps better
EDIT: you can (in your boobmarks properties) just add %28site%3Adownload.com+OR+ straight after w.g.com q= -if you know what i mean (ie users would do this to their favourite-google-page-searchfield and resave it i guess _________________ YouCanChangeTheWorld-YouAlreadyAre |
