Friendster also counts Brazilians in the millions among its members—according to their spokeswoman, Lisa Kopp. And, according to this Reuter article, “Brazilians account for nearly 211,000 of the 453,600 users of Fotolog (http://www.fotolog.net), which allows people to post a visual diary of their lives.”
According to Beth Saad, a communications professor at University of Sao Paulo, this is just a fad for Brazilian Internet enthusiasts. What will keep folks coming back to Orkut? I use it as a picture gallery, as I’ve mentioned here before. How do you use Orkut, if at all? |

What angers the English speakers is the lack of respect for the other members in the community.
Example: A forum is setup for English speaking only and they continue to post in their native tongue. Everytime you look at the board for recent posts 7/10 are in another language , which completely undermines the entire group. If you look around the folks from Brasil will also have the exact same topic/group where only Portugese is allowed to be written. It has gotten so bad that a few of the Brasilians are speaking out against such inappropriate behaviour. My problem is with the offenders, I embrace every race the same, and have friends from all parts of the globe.

| There are lots and lots of them, and the problem is they are in every community, If there was a forum named "Only people who can't speak Portuguese" there would be a lot of Portuguese post's saying who knows what. |

What is your opinion about the lack of respect for other members in the Orkut Community? Do you think it's right? Are you saying that you don't want other members to give up on the Brasilians, or are you saying that you will never give up on the bad behaviour exhibited by some of the Brasilian members?
Why does normal conversation have to turn into threatening machismo crap. Are you that insecure?

nope... it doesn't V_V Damn... I was hoping to be the one to shut down all the damn Brazillians s*x scheemes that keep me looking O_O J/K, I actualy don't really like Orkut as much as I thought I would... o_O It really isn't too good looking, most groups aren't in English, or German... And, I know it is sad to say, but, unless some major changes are made, MySpace may just be quite a bit better... I used to use Snowboard.com, for the community aspect, but, it changed, and now sucks... Besides, they deleted my 3000+ posts in their forum...
Anyways, back to Orkut, I thought I would enjoy it, but, I don't... most groups are p--n, and most aren't in a language I understand... Anyway's, I think I might not be using Orkut for a while... o_O sorry to ramble V_V
