Big hello to all
First post
Our site Swapshop was started in Sept 2004. We have been slowy but surely making it SEO freindly. Please can I get some advice as I have been reading these forums but still unsure.
Our site adverts url is say details.php?=site666 this via a mod_rewrite is 666.htm, we have a script say google maps.php that generates the following
Rewritten is the htm version without the DB query No Rewritten is with the orginal query
Google Maps have the TXT rewritten version Issue seems that if you go to google and type site:www.swapshop.co.nz or site:swapshop.co.nz , we have gone from 48,300 to 22,900
Is this the Duplication Filter kicking in as its now showing omitted results.
If I go to google and check out the site: to see what files are cached it the query files. We have only started to use the Google maps 2-3 months ago. Is this a issue or is google updating and seeing the rewritten url and the non- rewritten url as a duplication?
Just added in to robots.txt file
googlebot Disallow: detail.php?
Will this help?
Also due to me coding late at night some pages had the same title and desc tags. This is due to the template which queries the db for a catergory. The catergory is mean to return values and the title, desc and meta tags generated from this. This issue is almost completed fixed few pages to find.
