Done testing Very Happy
I tried the [php] wrapping, and it didn't seem to do much Sad WordArt was a bit big Razz, and clip-art also looked like it could be really annoying (huge ducks etc..).
I couldn't get the insert symbol to work Confused It opened the window, but never inserted anything Confused
Also, the boxes that opened up (keyboard, symbols) were half off the screen to the right.

Let's see.... ψΣβ ...seems to be working okay for me.
And yes, the clipart is huge. I hope to not see a lot of that.
I don't know why those boxes open over there, but you know you can drag them around by the titlebar, eh?

Maybe, I had a glitch earlier, but this wasn't working...  Or maybe, I just thought it didn't because it didn't have a Flashing Cursor to inform me that I had properly selected the text box.  Odd.  I like it though.  Could be ⇒ FUN

I don't like the way it doesn't delete letters in the conventional way - it goes back and doesn't delete them with backspace and then all of a sudden when you type something it disappears. Confused Also, when tab is pressed it now doesn't go to the buttons for submit which is rather annoying. I've also had trouble with "undo"ing - it undid my whole text, then didn't redo it again. Confused

You can still use the old editor, and those smilies, if you want.
I don't like a lot of these new ones either. the big ones like this are kind of grotesque.
One plus, though, is that I recently noticed that they can be even further deformed.

That's kind of fun.

Edit:

In reply to Andrew, yes, there are some editing problems. I've had a hard time editing posts, in which the formatting just won't behave at all, and I see here and there that the formatting elements are showing up in quoted text, as well.

Razz (Duck run over by lorry Wink )

I think that smiley of yours needs a visit to the dentist mondine Wink It could do with a trim. And the optician aswell to see about those eyes. A surgeon might also be a good idea to see about getting the arms re-attached.

Maybe you could help then! Wink

Anyway yes there are quite a few problems that I've had but I guess I'll get used to them over time!

I've turned off the rich text editer, and now I'm getting HTML tags when I try to quote etc...for example: <br />

That's a good point. I'll have to add in a text replacement or something to replace the <br /> with newlines.

I just noticed a member bringing up the question:
Is there no spell-check available in the editor?

Not that I need it, as my spelling is perfekt.

The Google toolbar includes a spellchecker. I don't know if it works with the Rich Text Editor, but my guess is that it does.

And, when Firefox 2 comes out, it's suppose to have an inline spell checker just for this kind of stuff.
