 I have major login problems with a new created Orkut account. The screen simply refreshes and gets back to the login prompt (does not even display any error)  . I am surprised to see that my friend is able to login using my browser/computer, so the problem is not with the browser/cookie, etc.
Can somebody help me solve this problem? |

That sure is strange  Orkut have lots of problems, but it's normally "Bad, bad server...no doughnut for you" that causes people problems.
Edit: Are you using Opera? People have complained about login problems when using Opera.

Yes, what browser are you using? And your friend's success doesn't necessarily rule out a cookie problem, as you could have one that is damaged, or corrupted.

I am using Microsoft IE. I also wanted to let you know that I was just invited into orkut today. I registered and sent a couple of invites to my friends. Interestingly it is not working for me and the friends I invited, but it is working for some others.

Well, if it's just today, you can't really rule out their infamous server problems, yet.
It would be handy though, if you could test it in a different browser (like Firefox). That's usually the quickest way to determine where the problem is.

Ok I have been a member of Orkut for less than 24 hours and since my first registration I have not been able to log in.
It's getting quite frustrating. I enter my password and the page simply refreshes. I have tried the following:
1. Three different browsers (Firefox, Opera and Internet explorer).
2. Clearing my cache.
3. Two different computers.
4. Two different Internet service providers.
5. Updating my Google password.
6. I even tried mistyping my password just to see if it could tell the deference (it did do that right).
I am about to say screw it which is a shame as what I saw in my brief exploration this morning looked promising.

Well, they can't improve, if they don't tinker, either. Which I assume that they're doing at the moment, as I can't log in, either.
But I just consider it as something to go poke around in, every now and then, so it does't bother me if it's today, or tomorrow, or the day after.
But no, I wouldn't want to try to use it as a vital link of communication.

I'm able to login to Orkut fine just now In fact, I've just sent some invites...Orkut seems to work for some, and not for others.

I use the same acc here as I do there, and I can't login, just gives me error and boots me back out.
I've gone the forums that have solutions for this (the orkut help said: Reset your cookies, they aren't like doughnuts and orkut doesn't like them) and they seemed to do a whole lot of nothing.
After several solution attempts I contacted orkut at the lovely .py scripted page. They have not rebutted, but I think something has to do with the maintenance on their site.
We'll see what happens, PLEASE fix the login problem.
