I recently decided to try selling on eBay/Amazon through wholesale droppshippers.

does anybody have some advice as to where I should get started?

what kind of of items are good to start with?

on eBay how should I start the listing in regard to starting/reserve/shipping price?

what are good/free/cheap services that I can use for research/tools to help list/keep track of items?

are there other good venues to sell stuff on?

what are some classic mistakes I should try to avoid?

in general anything that might help guide me in the right direction would be very helpful

There is very little margin in retail these days, especially ebay.

Do you have your vendors already?

I'm trying out doba - they act as a database of an assortment of suppliers that keep thier real names secret. Thier all dropshippers - so I don't need any start up cash for inventory (which I don't have) --  It's a huge database of all sorts of stuff - but from what i have read and gathered - mostly you just have to research and find good items that you can clear a profit on - that you can sell over and over, etc.  --  at this point I'm mostly looking for a better way to research - I have a trial account at terapeak - where I can look at all sorts of info on the past 90 days of ebay sales - but it just seems like it's taking forever to find stuff - that I can get, that is selling regularly, and for a price that I can still clear a profit after - listing FVF's paypal fee's etc.

Any ideas how I could speed up my research?  Would I just be better off waiting til I have startup capital and buying some inventory as opposed to selling through dropshippers - or do a whole lot of the people on eBay use dropshippers.  Would I make substatially more if I bought inventory?  -- If so any suggestions on what kinds of things are safe bets - as far as making your money back?

UPDATE!!!    DO NOT get involved with DOBA!
UPDATE!!!    DO NOT get involved with DOBA!

You'll never make money with doba -- I have no idea why ebay certified them.

I've done more research and found out that doba is a middleman scam-- I don t think they are breaking the law so much as being reallyreally misleading.

Apparently if you really want to get stuff at wholesale prices youhave to make a business name and get a sales tax ID.  (It's not as hardas it sounds)

Real wholsalers can not (by law) sell at wholesale prices to anyone without a sales tax ID.

I have done much research and am aabout to purchase the dropship wholesalers list from wholesalebrands.com.

If you check out http://www.ripoffreport.com/ -- and look up doba --you will find much info (read thouroughly because the staff at dobaseem to like to post rebuttalls acting like they are satisfiedcustomers -- But what satisfied customer goes to a site like that totout the wonders of thier satisfaction?)

I cant find one sigle report against worldwidebrands.com and it is ownedby chris malta who is apparently a highly respected ebay personality.

Also -- is you give me your e-mail addy -- i can send you a reallyhelpful PDF the lets you know what to look out for etc.  when lookingfor product sourcing --  It really helped me understand what to lookout for and how everything worked (from how the scams work to how thereal sh-- works)
