Hi,

Would just like to clarify if indexing GMail on Google Desktop results in downloading all GMail messages (including its attachments) on Google Desktop or only those messages accessed by the user, post-installation of Google Desktop?

The reason being I noticed heavy download activity in the background, without my knowledge. It stopped after I disabled the GMail & Google Desktop integration.

Any insights??

I don't think Google Desktop Search actually downloads all of your email, but just performs the search online through Gmail. That's just my guess, though, as I never really checked.

thunderbird downloads all.. it got on my nerves when i synchronized with one of my accounts with 200 mb inside.. and all this with a 64 kbps conncecion.. (now it's 256, thanks to god)

I don't like when I say something MS is good, but the vista sidebar (in the new beta) is GREAT!
