Google Desktop 4 (Beta) is here! I looked it up after browing Desktop's blog.

The main feature is the new widgets gadgets, which tightly intergrate with google's other search products.

http://desktop.google.com/

there are some other features too -- check it out. what you guys think?

i personally love the hot key (pressing shift key twice) and getting every single bit of information i need in a split second. wonderful.

Hey, this is the first time I noticed this. The gadgets look really good. It looks like Google has got a gadget for almost any kind of thing you want to do on your desktop.
(I was attracted by the Weather Globe. Rolling Eyes)

This certainly is a nice new feature! Only thing that annoys me is the "gadget" text and Google Desktop icon that appear in my taskbar next to the tray icons. Anyone got an idea how to get rid of that?

right-click on the taskbar, go to toolbars, unclick google desktop.

The gadgets are pretty neat. I personally like using a combo of the Yahoo! Widgets as well as the Google Gadgets. Both of them have their plusses =)

I think it would be very nice/useful if the Google gadgets with GDS were synchronized with the "content" on Google IG.  This way, when I'm away from my computer with GDS and at a comp where I can't install any progs/apps, I would just go to google.com/ig and have the same gadgets (only in a less eye-catching style) available to me.

This doesn't have to be the entire Google IG page, it can be a separate page, called for example - GDS gadgets sync... or other...

Also, it would be nice to have an option to recover/sync my gadgets across multiple computers, like the Google tabs app for FireFox.  Any time I sit down at a new computer and install GDS, I will have the option to open/dl the saved gadgets I opened last time (on another comp).

What do ya'll think?
