Why doesn't google write a book about itself and sell it (or give away a free ebook version). It would be good to have an official Google book to read. Cool

Don't be silly, they're just a company, very young at that. Besides writing/publishing a book about themselves would be even sillier...

Google's a young company. I'd expect something like that from a company like IBM, which was founded in 1911.

Still, aren't there self-publishing methods out there? You could take the content from Google's site and make a book out of it for yourself. There might be some trademark/copyright issues, though.

Sorry I'll have to agree with the people who think it's a silly idea, Google is still young!

I still want a book with the Google logo on the binder in my bookcase. I don't care if it's a rubbish book. It's not the read I'm after. Cool

I would agree with andrew on one part, having the logo or the book of google to carry around would be pretty nice. You can show your friends your a complete computer freek by having a bumper sticker of "Google" on the back of your car. I would find it hillarious along with a bunch of people, am i right or am i wrong?

Anyways if someone published a book on google, it probably wouldnt be google, it would probably be some guy who is bored out of his mind that would find enough information on such a young company to write a complete text book on it.

I have a Google folder - perhaps it could be used for similar effect (I never have used it that way). Has Google published any books? I know there are lots of books about Google -- one off the top of my head is The Search -- but I thought they were all made by 3rd party publishers.

Perhaps someone could write about the effects of google on searchers or its impact on the internet community. (I mean, it's almost as big as slice bread -- almost.) I've read books about the failure of kmart, so why not read about the success of google? We should probably leave that to some commerce researchers to write though.

I'd flip out without google. I like googling random things when I'm bored. (Yeah, I google my name too...)

hi friends,
well matt ,you are absolutely right.
i really feel that google should right a book about themselves because in such a short span of time itself they have achieved a lot and is already the best search engine.
yipeee!!!it would be real fun to get a book on google,to keep it in the showcase,
hmm....good thought.
