You have to help Google to find you quickly. The best ways are:
- Creating a Google sitemap (www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ , for m ore info:http://www.seo-ranked.info/site-maps.php) - Getting good quality links (from web directories, other blogs, etc.) - Install the Google toolbar and visit your website, better if some friends do the same, or if you do it from different computers. The first two will help you not only to have your website indexed, but to get good ranks (provided taht your website is search engine friendly)

I would rather recommend you to get more and more quality backlinks from relevant sites. It could help you a lot in indexing a site. Just submit your site to directories. _________________ free antispyware download|free registry cleaner download| |

How do you do this?? A site that I am building for a client also is not appearing in Google? I've tried the sitemaps they suggest, and the add url also, but it still does not appear. Matt |

Matt: Just go to the pages of those directories, somewhere there is a link 'Add a link' or 'Suggest a link'.
And both of you didnt mention anything about the time you waited before you excepted to see your page in Google... it takes time. |

It does take some time for a new site to get indexed in Google. To ensure quick indexing of the site, get links from sites which are already indexed and regularly crawled by Google and submit to good directories. _________________ Managed Dedicated Servers || VPS Hosting

How true is that statement? Can you elaborate a little further on that, How does site submission in DMOZ help it's indexing in Google? _________________ Managed Dedicated Servers || VPS Hosting

There are many search engines and smaller directories that take their data from Dmoz. Getting into Dmoz is a quick way, so to speak, to get indexed by the different search engines, including Google, but getting listed in Dmoz isn't easy to begin with... Google has a directory that is also a direct copy of Dmoz. So, sites that are indexed by Dmoz will, at some point, show up in the Google directory; it depends on when Google updates their data from Dmoz. If you submit your site to Dmoz and they add it quickly, then you'll begin to see your site show up in other directories as well as in the search engines, including Google.
I'm not sure exactly how it works. Mabye Google uses Dmoz data to feed its search database. |

I have been trying this for almost 4 months now. I finally got my index page and then 5 pages. Then Google spidered my site while I was adding pages and found broken links so it took them all out. Just this week, they put 8 pages in again but that is it. I have worked so hard and have 156 pages. Plus, I have submitted to every directory I know of, but most still do not have me in there. I am at a loss. I have been in Yahoo and MSN since almost the beginning but I know I will not get any decent traffic until I am in Google. Any advice? _________________ Juanita, LMT

Putting a link in your forum signature could also help Google to index your website. _________________ Football Rumours | Gloog |

Thank you, Andrew! I appreciate your reply. Would my website that I have at the bottom of my signature be what you are talking about when you say link or should I do something more than that? _________________ Juanita, LMT
