| Can you believe it? People are selling Gmail invitations on eBay. I'm really not sure if this is good or bad. I wonder when Google will finally allow public registration? Personally, I wouldn't mind if they never did. It would be much like Orkut, and would help to keep out spammers and such. |

When I first entered the keywords " get a gmail account " on google the third or second link was too an e-bay bid it cost about 50 $.There were only about 5 or 6 bids then , now there are about 50 of them and now you can even get an orkut invitation for only 5 $.When will people stop selling FREE products. The information that was given about orkut was something like : "a place where you can get gmail accounts because there are a lot of google workers there". _________________ If you can read this then you are capable of understanding English |

If it isn`t too much can you please send me too an invitation. I think you need my first and surname .Here they are : Todorov Alen .Thanks once again. Maybe it isn`t very much and it won`t help googlecommunity in PageRank so much but I added a link on www.alen.go.ro ( romanian peronal site ) _________________ If you can read this then you are capable of understanding English |

If anything, it shows that there are a lot of people that still can't use a search engine effectively (and it shouldn't be that difficult).
Incidentally, it was a little over a month ago that I Googled for an Orkut invitation. I recall that GC was the third result at the time.
I registered, posted, and received an invitation about six hours later.
I've been to Orkut about a half-dozen times, since.
But I've been back to GC every day. _________________

It's fine to sell anything (appropriate to ebay policies), as long as you have the right to distribute it.
Google gives Gmail account holders the right to invite people, according to its terms and conditions.
Holding an account does not assign to you the right to sell the invitations. You don't own the rights to those invitations (the same way that it is Google that owns your Gmail account, and can take it away from you for policy violations), so you can't alter the basis on which it is permissible to distribute them.
But people sell free stuff on eBay all the time. You can sell a bucket of water, if you find someone dumb enough to buy it.
And if you don't make a false claim (like it's Magic Water that cures cancer) or use someone else's trademark name or image. _________________

Its quite surprising to know this. I was not aware that people are mad about Gmail invitations and Orkut accounts. My Gmail account still shows 'Invite a friend - 100 left". This way I can make 100s of $. Just joking! _________________ A Good Collection of Cool SMS

Sorry if I'm repeating what someone else said but I don't have time to read the entire thread. It says (or used to say) in Google's ToS that if you sold any of its services it would terminate yours. _________________ Michael-m.co.uk Forums|Language Wiki |
