hey guys. i have downloaded google earth and the picture quality is great. But some of my friend suggested me to check the NASA version of google earth. its a large program and i havent downloaded as i want to check what people say about it. anyone here tried it. is Google earth better than it? here is the link to it http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/

It sounds pretty good but its nasa... so u can expect a lot of secrecy and hidden areas.

Well, it's not Nasa's version of Google Earth. Nasa just built a little app for viewing the Earth with (might look like Google Earth). Why not try both of them and find out which one you like the best.

NASA version allows you to view the earth with more than one type of sattelite. But Google Earth is honestly much better. First, it doesn't take about 2 Gb of space on your hard disk, second, Google Earth is more detailled, thirdly, WorldWind is ... quite slow, let's say.

After reading this thread, I downloaded and installed Worldwind. I found it to be too slow, too system intensive, poor UI and not so good resolution. I would stick to GEarth.

I have been using Google Earth since it was Keyhole LT. And it has grown to be quite an awesome program. If anyone has questions about GEarth, just shoot me a pm.

Also, how many of you Geocache and use Google Earth? The first person to reply should start a new thread and title it "Geocaching and Google Earth".

Yeah, world wind was bad when I tried it... I would have to say google earth is better.
