Sad

Anyone having trouble with the Maps panel?

Under the menu for the panel, there's a greyed out menu item called "Options" so it cant be used. Is this true for everyone, or just me? Also, the maps do not alternate to different maps (like the Photos panel). Is this anything to do with the fact that I'm at work on a Windows 2000 system ... a firewall perhaps? All other panels are working correctly so, I'm connected to Google's server perfectly OK.

So ....

Why do they have the "Options" option in the panel? Are they teasing us or ... is it a programming mistake?

I heard from someone that their Maps panel actually scrolled. Have you seen that?

Is the Maps panel in a Beta mode? ...

Perhaps, but not probably, I'll hear from a Moderator <grin>

OK ... I uninstalled the application and reinstalled it. Now my Maps panel in the sidebar just sits there when loaded and says "Connecting to server".

Yes ... I'm using a laptop running Windows 2000.

Yes ... I'm using the laptop at work.

Yes ... There's probably a company firewall.

What port does the Maps panel use? How do I open it? All other Google applications, including Google Maps and Google Earth all work correctly.
