Can anyone recommend a good FREE GD programme? I'd like to have a go at this kind of thing, but have no idea what to download really? I was looking in the terms of a free download of some kind? 
( I know you get what you pay for, but still  )

Wow thanks Darren. I'll try the Paint.Net one
I will keep Gimp in mind because I am thinking about trying Linux at some stage. I just need to build my confidence up for it.

I think I might download paint.net....I didn't know it existed. Is Paint.NET a product endorsed by Microsoft/paint
