I have used Microsoft's System Restore numerous times, but every once in awhile I get "Cannot restore the computer to an earlier restore point, no changes have been made to your computer". I really need to restore my computer now, but it wouldn't work. Anybody want to help?

yeah, ok. just follow BRIL:

1. Backup everything.
2. Reformat your harddrive(s).
3. Install windows.
4. Load the crap back on

or find a better restore program, becuase MSrestore allways messes up unless you config it rite, ei: excess HDD space and never delete old info.

Try using this guide, if you still haven't fixed your PC.

thanks, but I know how to set a restore point. My problem is when a restore point I created a couple of days ago, doesn't restore. I might get around to reformating my hard drive by installing windows pro... but I don't wnat to lose my programs. I do have a lot of junk though

No, my computer isn't obsolete, it rocks. System Restore is like its only problem, and that's only every once in awhile. My computer is an Athlon 64 3200, Asus A8V Deluxe, 1 gig of ram and a radeon x700 pro graphics card. Not my problem, just Windows.
