Hi all,
I've used Copernic Desktop Search for a year or so and it's fast. Type in my search terms I and get the result a second later, pretty good. just did a fresh install of XP pro SP2 so I thought I'd give GDS a whirl. I've built my index, unencrypted databae of 500,000 items, added all the extra plugins and GDS seems to function well, it's just slow
I use the Deskbar to search. I haven't used / configured the sidebar.
GDS seems to find results fast enough however it seems to be very, very slow connecting to 127.0.0.1 to display results. I have my Firefox 1.5 browser open and often wait 3-5 seconds "Connecting to 127.0.0.1". By comparision, searching the web using www.google.com is much faster than searching my desktop using GDS.
Searching the desktop from the web interface is also slow when using terms such as rock:mp3
Is a 3-5 second+ delay for results typical of GDS ?
